Taking THE PLUNGE!

I first heard about it in September 2009 when we were in Cebu from one of R's adventure guide. A couple of months later, R sent me a youtube video and told me that he booked a flight for us in December 2010 so we can try it out. My jaw dropped as I watched the video and it made me think twice about doing it but since we weren't scheduled to go until the end of the year, I just brushed it off and forgot about it.

Before I knew it, we were on a plane to Tagbilaran in Bohol. I was very excited because Bohol is one of my favorite places in the Philippines but I was also partly anxious because our first stop would be the Danao Plunge!

We did the caving first before the plunge. When we got there, there were already some people lined up for their turn so I got to watch them go first.

Then...it was my turn. I took off my flip flops and slowly walked towards the edge of the platform. There are two options in taking the plunge. One is to be released sitting down and the other is head first (similar to bungee jumping). I chose the later. I don't usually scream anymore in adventure activities but this one made me scream for a second there. I felt a rush in my heart as I was dropping in enormous speed. After that initial scare, I started to notice and enjoy the beauty of the tree tops, the mountains on each side, the river below and the cool breeze rushing through my face.

So nice to try something new. :)
