Beautiful Isolation - Philippine Beaches

My friends are cooking up a project (which I will post for sure when it is up and running) and I'm so ecstatic about it. They asked me for some of my destination photos for their mock product.

Beautiful is an understatement when describing the Philippines. One of the things that make it beautiful is its stunning beaches. As I was browsing through the photos of my travels over the years, I was amazed at how breathtaking they were, as if I was experiencing it for the first time.

I decided to make a compilation of my favorite beaches in the Philippines. Anybody who knows me well would know that my biggest criteria is ISOLATION. There is nothing like enjoying a remote place that is clean and seemingly unaware of the chaos of the city miles and miles away.

Now, being isolated, it obviously was quite a challenge to go to most of the destinations that I will post here. Some of my favorites may be because of its obvious enchanting charm, the unique activities that I have done there and the memorable events in my life. And since I post blogs about each destination in detail, I will just let the photos speak for themselves. No ranks here because, well...how could I?

Boracay (October 2012)
I have been here many times. Mostly during the Dragonboat festival in April or May. I never appreciated it and each year I reluctantly went only for the festival and to see old friends.

When we went there in October 2012, I saw it in a different light. It was breathtaking when it is almost empty.

Camigiun White Island
This uninhabited island is home to many fun memories with friends during the many times that I have come here.

Caramoan (January 2010)

Anda, Bohol (December 2010)

Club Paradise, Palawan (October 2011)
Our first vacation as a married couple. I'd love to come back here someday.

Sangat Island, Palawan (June 2010)
This is where he proposed. I liked the experience of kayaking through open sea to a mangrove where I could feel the water temperature shift almost instantly from cold to lukewarm as we entered the mangrove.

El Nido (June 2009)
Mini caves to swim in...creepy and interesting.

Bangui coast, Ilocos (December 2010)
This is not good for swimming but just look at this view! The huge windmills made me feel like an ant.

Malapascua, Cebu (March 2012)

Pagudpud, Ilocos (December 2010)
Walking along the beach in front of Kapuluan Vista Resort during sunrise was priceless.

San Vicente, Palawan (September 2012)
I wanted to own a piece of this. Someday, I'll have one that's just right for me.

Anawangin, Zambales (August 2011)
Our pre-nup photos. The back side of the island was equally if not more gorgeous.

Batanes (July 2012)

 Apo Island, Dumaguete (August 2008)
Very rugged lifestyle in the island. No electricity and very limited fresh water. The marine sanctuary was amazing! The biggest and most colorful corals I have ever seen right beside the community elementary school. It was so huge and colorful that it was almost too scary.

Isla Naburot, Guimaras (February 2010)
The most relaxed and rested I've ever been in my life.

Siargao (February 2011)
I will never forget the first fish we caught (which we ate in 3 different dishes) and my first and only cliff diving experience (I still have a vivid memory of taking a deep breath, jumping and hitting the water).

Danjugan Island, Bacolod (June 2012)
It scared the heck out of me to see a black-banded sea krait while trekking. Snakes and wild animals aside, you can pick your own private beach around the island.

Carbin Reef, Bacolod (June 2012)
Gian clams for several kilometers in crystal clear water with one of the most photogenic beaches I have ever been to.

Travel with the people you like. It will make every place you visit so much more beautiful, every activity you try so much more fun and every food you eat so much more delicious!
